Community Bible Class Begins at Zion Lutheran Church Pleasant Plains
Zion Lutheran Church Pleasant Plains announces that a new community Bible Class will begin in the church Fellowship Hall beginning Tuesday August 21 at 6:30 pm and ending at 8:00 pm. The class will last approximately 13 weeks.
The topic of the Bible class will be "Definitions." The Rev. Donald Pritchard pastor of Zion Lutheran commented that "definitions are extremely important in the Christian church. Inadequate definitions lead to inadequate understanding of what the Bible teaches."
Each class will be dedicated to the proper understanding of a Scriptural term: the Word, Baptism, Faith and Sin. The class will study the meaning of these terms, not on the basis of human opinion, but on what the Scriptures themselves teach.
The Bible class will use the magazine "Good News" as a study guide for this important topic and free discussion will be built into each session. The study guide is provided free of charge to those who attend. Participants may bring their own Bibles or use Bibles provided. The Rev. Dr. Michael Strong, pastor of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Chruch Farmersville will be the leader of the class. He is a dynamic teacher and participants learn from and enjoy his teaching style.
Because this is a community Bible class all residents of Pleasant Plains and the surrounding area are invited to attend. There is no charge and the only thing required is a desire to learn what the Bible teaches on this topic. Refreshments will be served. If there are questions you may contact Rev. Pritchard at 626-1282.
